Red Sox couldn’t reach a deal with A. Gonzalez

According to Sports Illustrated Jon Heyman the Red Sox could not reach to a deal with Adrian Gonzalez.

Earlier today we learned that Gonzalez and the Red Sox reached an impasse in the negotiations and the trade might not happen, although Heyman guesses that the trade might still happen despite alleged difference in years last night.

“All I can say is, it was very disappointing it could not work out. We’re very busy at this point,” said John Boggs- Gonzalez agent (via Tom Krasovic of FanHouse.com).

FOXSport’s Ken Rosenthal says that the teams can still negotiate a trade despite the negotiation window being closed. He adds that they are confident of making a deal, although it’s hard to give up to much for a one year guy.

Yesterday, The Boston Red Sox and the San Diego Padres agreed on a deal that will send Gonzalez to Boston in exchange for Casey Kelly, Anthony Rizzo and Reymond Fuentes.
